Kathryn De Young is a graduate of the Photography Program at Pinellas Technical College in St. Petersburg and is also a graduate of the Photography/Graphic Design Program at Manatee Technical College in Bradenton, where she is also an Assistant Teacher at the present time.

Kathryn De Young has won awards and ribbons both locally and on a state level and has also earned recognition as an International Award Winning Photographer in a Competition where she competed with over 11,000 entries from more than 110 countries, and where she was also honored for her achievement, along with the other winners, at a special ceremony given at the Ringling College of Art and Design.

She has been written up in the Observer and the Suncoast News and her photos are hanging in the hallways and emergency rooms in The Doctor’s Hospital of Sarasota as part of a permanent installation that her winning entries made her eligible to be included in.

She was an Honor Student and Gold Medalist in the Skills USA contest at her college in Bradenton and she has been awarded the prestigious title of being listed as one of the Top Ten Photographers Of The Year for the camera club she belongs to in Tampa every year since she has joined the organization four years ago.

She is an Adobe Certified Associate in Photoshop and is an experienced Digital Photo Artist in Composite Work.

She sits on the Advisory Board for a local Camera Club and is the Photography Mentor for a local Ladies’ Guild.

She has judged and critiqued various venues in the past and has presented Zoom teaching sessions on various Photographic topics. She loves to travel and would go anywhere if asked to judge.
